Today (February 27th, 2024), the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay that will lift a lower court’s injunction blocking SB480 from taking effect. The law, which significantly restricts access to gender affirming care, was originally set to take effect on July 1, 2023, but will now go into effect immediately.
The law prohibits medical clinicians from providing most gender-affirming health care to patients.
If you have questions about how this effects you, your practice, or your patients, INAAP encourages you to consult with legal counsel.
