Latest from the President

Bosslet

Welcome to the new website for the Indiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. As the INAAP President, I am excited to work with our executive director, talented committee chairs, and members as we continue our mission to improve the physical, mental, and social well being of infants, children, teens, and young adults throughout Indiana.

I practice general pediatrics at Witham Pediatrics in Lebanon, IN, where my partners and I cover an outpatient practice as well as a Level 1 nursery and deliveries. I grew up in rural Clinton County; I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame. I then moved to Columbus, Ohio where I attended medical school and completed my pediatrics training and Chief Residency at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. I moved back home to Indiana after our first two children were born. In my free time I enjoy hiking, swimming, and raising our four young children with my husband, Gabe, a pulmonologist.

During my tenure as President of the INAAP, I plan to continue the work we have started in the areas of early brain and childhood development, infant mortality, preventive care, and chronic conditions. I hope to emphasize emerging work we have planned in the area of oral health and dental caries prevention. Mr. Weintraut and I will be working on ways to connect our members throughout the state online, as well as through in-person meetings and legislative events.

You will find more information on our work in the dedicated sections on our website. If you have an interest in learning more or becoming involved, please contact us.  I hope that you will join us and share your own interests and experiences so that we can further improve the health and well being of Indiana’s children and teens.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Sarah S. Bosslet, MD
